Abdominoplasty operations are not standard operations. If the deformity in the abdominal region continues towards the waist, the procedure to be performed should contain much wider area. Circumferential abdominoplasty procedure is used for fat removal and the removal of the excess skin in the abdominal region and towards the waist region.
WHAT IS APPLIED IN CIRCUMFERENTIAL ABDOMINOPLASTY?
When the examination is done, if the problems contains the waist region, the incision is lengthened along the back. During this procedure, a common liposuction technique is used. As this procedure is bigger than classical abdominoplasty procedures and it contains the waist region along with the abdominal region, it is called as a circumferential abdominoplasty.
HOW IS THE RECOVERY PROCESS OF CIRCUMFERENTIAL ABDOMINOPLASTY PROCEDURES?
Generally, the patient stays at the hospital for 3 nights. In following 24-48 hours tension, pain and sensitivity are obvious and the movements are limited. Standing upright is generally not possible. On the third day the feeling of tension declines. Until the 6th week wearing a corset is required. In 2-3 weeks a patient start to do his/her daily life activities but until the end of the 6th week corset must be used. Scars are obvious in the first months but they fade in time.

It can be applied to the patients who have lipodosis, sags and excess skin towards the waist region
IS CIRCUMFERENTIAL ABDOMINOPLASTY BE COMBINED WITH OTHER TECHNIQUES?
If the general condition of the patient and laboratory findings are suitable, circumferential abdominoplasty procedure can be combined with many surgical procedures(breast, nose) notably with liposuction .Combining these applications may a little bit lengthen the recovery process .
WHAT IS THE LENGTH OF THE MINI ABDOMINOPLASY SCAR?
Generally in comparison with abdominoplasty is shorter. It is planned as it will pass from the groin.Its length toward the side is related with the amount of the excess skin and spread toward the side and waist. An effort to make shorter scar can cause skin laps named as a dog ear the lines .These deformities can be removed under local anesthesia if it is necessary.
